Hooray! We want to hear your story and post your experiences seeing live music! We are always on the lookout for new contributors but are selective in our choice of writers.
Please review the information below. If you feel you are a good fit for 52 Shows a Year then simply fill in the form below, and we’ll respond shortly.
What We Post
52 Shows a Year posts Gonzo-style articles about the live music and festival experience. We write less about what music is good, better, or best and never assume what music our readers like. We do not write music reviews. We are mostly interested in your experience at the show. Some posts barely mention the music but discuss the lot experience, the amazing interactions with people, and the warm feeling of seeing your favorite band.
We’re currently looking for new columns: Have an idea for a running post type? Let’s hear it! Some examples:
- Product reviews: How about things that help with the concert-going experience. car camping ideas, earplugs, audio recorders, etc.
- Classic shows: Were you at an amazing show from the past you want to write about? Queen at Wembley ’86, Dead at Barton Hall ’77, Pantera in Ohio ’04? Tell us your memories and experiences.
- Album reviews: Are you a super fan and trained musician who can clearly articulate an album review? Lets see!
What We Don’t Publish
We don’t publish memes, reposts of articles, or content that is already online.
We are not a channel for advertorial content marketing. You can mention products/ services you like in your posts but we do not promote for the sake of your personal link building.
In order to avoid any conflict of interest, our contributors may not mention any tool, product, or service they are in any way affiliated with. Put simply, this means if you currently work for, represent, or are otherwise incentivized for mentioning a product, tool, or service, you may not include it in your article. That said, your article may include a single link back to content on your site, with the understanding that the link must be relevant to the subject at hand, and does not point to your main URL, a product landing page, or to content that is behind a lead generator.
Who We’re Looking For
We accept only individual writers (not company content teams).
Your writing should demonstrate that you’re able to offer a unique and engaging experience.
